The Douglas & McIntyre Publishing Group is one of the largest independent publishing houses in Canada, and the only one with full offices in both Toronto and Vancouver. Douglas & McIntyre publishes Canadian fiction and non-fiction with an emphasis on the best quality editorial content, design and production.

The house publishes under two imprints: Douglas & McIntyre, led by Publisher Scott McIntyre, and Greystone Books, led by Publisher Rob Sanders.

While deeply rooted in the West Coast community, the Douglas & McIntyre publishing mandate has always been to publish regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our driving passion is to create the best Canadian books for readers worldwide and to bring the best international stories to our nation�s readers.

From the very beginning, Douglas & McIntyre has been committed to publishing the finest authors including international bestsellers such as Thomas L. Friedman, P.J. O�Rourke and Ishmael Beah and Canadian icons like Douglas Coupland, David Suzuki and Jean Beliveau.

Douglas & McIntyre was co-founded by Jim Douglas and Scott McIntyre in 1971. Since its inception, the house has published intelligent, beautifully designed books exploring important issues. In 2007, the majority shares were sold to a group of Vancouver-based private investors led by Douglas & McIntyre's new President Mark Scott, enabling the company to grow and plan for the future.

Douglas & McIntyre is Canada�s number one publisher of books on art and architecture and First Nations art and culture, and is also known for publishing memoirs and significant works on Canadian history, politics, the environment and sports. We have published over 2,000 books in close to 4 decades and continue to nurture a rich backlist of more than 700 titles, including many West Coast and Canadian classics.
