The guest of poetry festivals all over the world, Patrick Lane has been called the best Canadian poet of his generation. He is the author of more than twenty books of poetry, most recently Syllable of Stone (2006). His 2004 memoir, There Is a Season (What the Stones Remember, U.S.), won the inaugural B.C. Award for Canadian Non-fiction. He lives in Saanichton, British Columbia.
