Alberto Manguel is a world-renowned essayist, novelist, translator and editor of literary anthologies. His works include A History of Reading (1997) and the novella Stevenson under the Palm Trees (2005). He lives in France. In October 2007 he will visit six cities in Canada to deliver this literary criticism year’s Massey Lectures, entitled “Why Are We Together?”
