Hummingbird Inspires Greystone's Own Environmental Commitment

In 2002, Greystone Books made a commitment to use only 100% post-consumer recycled paper in the books we publish. Recently we’ve renewed that promise in the form of an eco-audit.

So what does this book have to do with that commitment?

Well, the message of the hummingbird, if you have yet to read this lovely little book, is that water droplet by water droplet, she is doing what she can to extinguish a raging forest fire. Activists of all stripes have adopted this message around the world to convey their message - of conservation, preservation, determination to act, no matter how small that act may seem.

The gorgeous art work of Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas that illustrates this parable seemed naturally to convert into a beautiful animated video, and the message of the hummingbird seemed to reflect what Greystone Books was doing in terms of making responsible paper choices. Together, they form this video that we find pretty inspiring.
