Allan Levine’s King Nominated for Manitoba Book Awards

Douglas & McIntyre is delighted to announce that Allan Levine’s King: William Lyon Mackenzie King: A Life Guided by the Hand of Destiny has been shortlisted for two Manitoba Book Awards: the McNally Robinson Book of the Year and the Alexander Kennedy Isbister Award for Non-Fiction.

Established in 1988, the Manitoba Book Awards celebrate Manitoba writers, publishers and books. There are 13 diverse awards categories with each award judged by a jury of three writing and/or publishing professionals. The winners will be announced at the Manitoba Book Awards gala, organized by the Manitoba Writers’ Guild, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Centre culturel franco-manitobain (CCFM), Provencher. The winner of the MacNally Robinson Book of the Year will receive $5,000. The winner of the Alexander Kennedy Isbister Award for Non-Fiction will receive $3,500.
