Kasztner's Train shortlisted for prestigious Charles Taylor award

Awarded to the author and book that best exemplifies excellence of style in the genre of literary non-fiction, the Charles Taylor Prize winner will be announced on March 3rd in Toronto. Anna Porter's tale of Hungarian Jews during the Nazi reign is powerful and heart-wrenching, telling the story of "Hungary's Oskar Schindler", Reszö Kasztner. Making deals with the Nazi's to free thousands of Jews from a terrible fate, Kasztner remains a controversial character: hero or Nazi negotiator? Porter in her account, convinces the reader of the former. But regardless of the answer, the book was deemed worthy enough to be shortlisted for this prestigious prize.
